Q: How do I install DIA version 3, when I cannot uninstall version 2?
A:
Problem:
When installing DIA version 3, the installer program tells you to remove version 2 first, but you cannot as the original install files are no longer on the PC so Windows will not let you remove the earlier version.
Solution:
This is a problem with the Windows Installer process for which Microsoft have a workaround:
1. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
2. Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
3. From the start menu choose Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
4. Scroll down and select DIA or Dome Installation Assistant
5. click Remove
6. If any further instances of DIA appear in the list then remove those as well
You can now run the latest setup files.
